I normally wait for sales, but I'll get this right away (plus, I can sell the digital copies for a good price right off the bat ). I just hope the movies are in individual cases to appease my collector's OCD in keeping my Hitchcock movie in strict release order.

I wouldn't count on that happening -- not something Universal typically does with box-sets, especially titles that are newly released. I'll just stick it next to the 15-disc box, which I still have to keep around because it has so many movies in there.

I'd love to see other Hitchcock 4K UHDs, hopefully this sells well enough to make that happen.

Kind of a mixed bag -- PSYCHO looks great, and has been remastered for both 4K UHD and Blu-Ray (the only Blu-Ray in this set that's new). VERTIGO looks really good though a little processed. On the other hand, REAR WINDOW and THE BIRDS are not in the same league, both have moderate enhancements with HDR but they're not full-scale restorations or night-and-day differences with their last Blu-Ray releases. Minimal 4K improvements there.

On the audio side, note PSYCHO's mono track is apparently a fold-down of the 7.1 stereo remix, which sounds real good though if you want the original mono track, it's not here...I'll check this again later as I just read that. (VERTIGO's mono track IS mono for sure, I checked it, and both REAR WINDOW & THE BIRDS are only in mono to begin with).

Looks like a replacement program is afoot, with corrected copies featuring the actual mono track. Hey, Universal, while you're at it, can we have An American Tail with the theatrical stereo, instead of that ghastly 5.1 mix?

The movie industry is a huge fleece...lol...how many times have we all bought/upgraded Hitchcock's films, or Spielberg films, etc.?

Universal has indulged the home video formats with many a Hitchcock release -- more times than Spielberg's library actually...that's kind of crazy.
