Don't f%#! with the Chuck...in 4K!

I'm happy mainly for Child's Play 2, which is my favorite of the franchise and ought to get a significant visual upgrade (Stefan Czapsky's cinematography is fantastic). Also nice you can pick and choose, and not be forced to buy all three as part of a larger boxed set, because all of the Chucky sequels after part 2 are number two.

Seems like a mistake to miss BRIDE OF CHUCKY which not only was a big box-office success but Ronny Yu's use of color/cinematography in that movie was a cut above and would've benefitted from HDR. Maybe they'll get to it at another point, or felt doing 4 of these at once was too much.

Either way these will be good for the fans, I'm not big into them, but they should be robust sellers for Scream and it's a positive sign for more Universal catalog titles to come, needless to say.

One wonders if Scream now has access to the Jaws sequels. I'd pay good money for an upgraded 4K release of Jaws 2 (especially if they could unearth some of the lost John Hancock footage). The rest of the sequels can fornicate themselves, the same way I'll pick up the first two Child's Play movies and leave the rest.

Me too, though a few months back on Twitter, one of the Arrow guys told me they would've loved to do a JAWS 2 4K but Universal wouldn't let them license it. Whether that's because Universal wants to do it themselves or Steven's meddling again, who knows. Hopefully they change their minds.

Anyways, I ordered the bundle with the three movies, 5 posters, 2 extra slipcovers and the "burnt" Chuck Neca figure. 8) The third movie sucks, but I can unload that easily enough, and I just want the nice extra slip/poster for Child's Play 2. I just hope the discs don't come looking like they were polished with a Brillo pad, like so many recent Scream titles. :? Some seriously slipshod quality control coming from the specialty labels these days. If they get a batch of discs from the factory looking this bad, they should not mail them out until they get pristine copies in. The BD copies that came in my recent Alligator and Escape From New York UHDs had noticeable scratches on them.
