Let's Go To The Mall -- Movie Listings for 8/12/83

Even the trash back in the August dumping grounds looks appealing!

THE MAN WHO WASN'T THERE, incidentally, has never turned up on DVD much less Blu-Ray. Totally forgotten film.

I had totally forgotten how movie listings would sometimes have those "last seven days" notices.

Summer 83 was a big one for me. I remember seeing Blue Thunder, War Games, ROTJ, Superman 3, Octopussy and the dreadful Curse of The Pink Panther. That was a record summer for me at the time.

I remember that also, though around here it was only used to tag "last week"-type notices. I'm pretty sure CURSE OF THE PINK PANTHER lasted only a week...it opened and then it was already "Last 2 Days!" by the following Wednesday.

The year prior -- on this date -- FAST TIMES & FRIDAY THE 13TH PART 3 IN 3-D opened. Happy 40th Anniversary (note AN OFFICER AND A GENTLEMAN actually opened on 7/28 but was "new to the theater" in this advertisement)
