Australian label Imprint Films has informed us that it will add several new titles to its Blu-ray catalog in July. They are: Hud (1963), This Property Is Condemned (1966), Track of the Cat (1954), You Only Live Once (1937), The Juggler (1953), Jet Storm (1959), and Blue / Fade In (1968-2024).

All titles are scheduled to arrive on the market on July 30.

HUD (1963)

Nominated for seven Academy Awards (and winning three), Hud stars Paul Newman as the titular bad-boy cowboy, directed by the legendary Martin Ritt (The Molly Maguires). Includes brand NEW Special Features.

BLUE / FADE IN (1968-1973)

BLUE and FADE IN were filmed in tandem in Utah, 1967. Sharing sets, locations, and even actors, the two films are distinctly unique, yet make for a fascinating double-bill.

Burt Reynolds and Barbara Loden star in Fade In, where the enormous production of a Western film entwines the two together on a tumultuous romantic journey. See behind-the-scenes as the real Western film Blue is shot, starring Terence Stamp, Karl Malden, and Joanna Pettet, directed by Silvio Narizzano, and making its worldwide Blu-ray debut!

Limited Edition 3-Disc Hardbox with brand NEW Special Features on both films, plus the 2024 feature documentary Cruel, Usual, Necessary: The Passion of Silvio Narizzano.

THIS PROPERTY IS CONDEMNED (1966)

Sydney Pollack directs Natalie Wood, Robert Redford, Kate Reid, and Charles Bronson in this sizzling Hollywood classic, adapted by Francis Ford Coppola from the classic play by Tennessee Williams.

Includes a brand NEW Audio Commentary and archival Special Features.

TRACK OF THE CAT (1954)

This 50s Western stars Robert Mitchum, Teresa Wright and Diana Lynn, directed by four-time Oscar-nominated director William A. Wellman. Co-produced by John Wayne, the film is based on the 1949 novel by Walter Van Tilburg Clark, and makes startling use of color in cinematography by William H. Clothier (Wings).

YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE (1937)

Renowned director Fritz Lang joins the Imprint collection with You Only Live Once, a 30s crime drama starring Sylvia Sidney and Henry Fonda.

"One of his best, most distinguished movies" - Derek Winnert

THE JUGGLER (1953)

Kirk Douglas stars as a survivor of the Holocaust in this chilling drama, produced by Stanley Kramer (On The Beach) and directed by Edward Dmytryk (The Caine Mutiny).

JET STORM (1959)

Brace for impact with this time-ticking thriller, starring Richard Attenborough as a former scientist with a bomb on an airplane.

Directed by Cy Endfield (Sands of the Kalahari), don't miss this edge-of-your-seat nail-biter, one of the earliest examples of an aviation-based 'disaster movie'. Includes brand NEW Special Features.

Before sci-fi master Denis Villeneuve helmed the franchise, surrealist auteur David Lynch crafted his epic vision based on the classic novel by Frank Herbert.

This strictly Limited Edition Sandbox packaging features a tempered glass liquid sand panel, displaying the rolling sands of Arrakis and hints of spice melange, moving in front of the iconic poster artwork. Tilt the panel to watch the sands spill, run your fingers across the sand-like grit-textured surface of the hardbox, turn the foil-stamped text towards the light, and pull out the drawer to dive beneath the dunes.

This is a heavy, bespoke collector’s item, measuring 23 x 32cm, weighing in at 1.5kg, and comes replete with comprehensive physical extras:

a full-colour matte laminated 27″ x 40″ folded print of the original poster;
a reprint of the original official 1984 three-issue comic series;
a hardcover booklet, featuring 60 pages of photographs and original production material;
a 3D Lenticular Hardcase housing all four discs;
six art cards;
a custom-made transparent PVC display case with anti-scratch film lamination.
Rediscover the original Dune with the Theatrical Cut fully restored on 4K UHD with Dolby Vision, and on Blu-ray, plus the Extended TV Version on Blu-ray.

Dive beneath the dunes and behind the scenes with an exclusive extended cut of the feature-length documentary ‘The Sleeper Must Awaken’, alongside hours of Special Features.

The year is 10,191, and four planets are embroiled in a secret plot to wrest control of the Spice Melange, the most precious substance in the universe and found only on the planet Arrakis. A feud between two powerful dynasties, House Atreides and House Harkonnen, is manipulated from afar by ruling powers that conspire to keep their grip on the spice. As the two families clash on Arrakis, Duke Atreides’ son Paul finds himself at the centre of an intergalactic war and an ancient prophecy that could change the galaxy forever.

Starring Kyle MacLachlan, Virginia Madsen, Patrick Stewart, and Sting.

We are only pressing this mantelpiece-worthy Limited Edition set once, available now for pre-order.

I cannot get enough of it...lol...I have the Arrow special edition set but it does not include the extended 177 minute cut, something I woulf love to have. The price is insane for it...tempting but I don't want to spend all that money for a cut of a film.

Oh that's right, I forgot the Arrow didn't have the TV cut, which is why I ended up buying the repressing of the Koch/Plaion German UHD box-set last year.

Andy,

I read somewhere; there was a problem with The Sleeper Must Awaken: Making Dune documentary on the Arrow release. Was this true? Also, the Kock/Plaion German UHD box-set, is that a digibook?

John,
Arrow didn't include the Sleeper Must Awaken doc because it wasn't done in time (they claimed). Honestly it's kind of dry and I didn't find it that interesting.

Plaion/Koch released a slew of 4K/Blu-Ray releases on Digibook, Steelbook and a big 6-disc box back in 2021.

The box sold out fast, then last year (April 2024), Plaion repressed the big box (with some improvements). That 6-disc set has the TV cut and that "Spicediver" edit made by a Youtuber, in a better transfer than the first release. It's sold out now...wasn't too expensive a year ago (about $120 shipped) when it was around.

https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Dune-4K-Blu-ray/356788/

That's the release I have.

I don't know what's around of the Digibook and Steelbook, and/or what's on them (if it's just the theatrical version etc.). I think both of those are 3-disc sets.

If you have a region free player, someone on the BD board mentioned this 3-disc French UHD release is reasonably priced and has the TV cut...a lot cheaper than Imprint's package obviously.

If anyone is looking to import this from a domestic vendor, I highly recommend Atomic Movie Store. Their pricing (and packaging) is excellent and I've used them many times since Rarewaves' shipping price went up.

The Imprint DUNE box is $144 from them (no tax, free ship):
