I think we should add overrated Michael -- this is a great idea!
Gilliam:
Best: TIME BANDITS
Worst: FEAR & LOATHING (or anything from THE BROTHERS GRIMM afterwards)
Guilty Pleasure: Nothing really qualifies

Re: Best and Worst (and maybe Guilty Favorite) Thread
I think we need to go one at a time or else it will just be a random thread and people will miss some of them, no?
Michael should let us know when he's ready for the next director as he started this thread

Re: Best and Worst (and maybe Guilty Favorite) Thread
It is totally cool...to be honest it was meant to be a random thing where people could post whatever and others could respond whenever. I wasn't sure how else to do it without creating individual topics on each person.

OK proceed as before then
Andyb -- what's guilty about enjoying 2001 or PATHS OF GLORY? I think most consider those to be classics.

I think it is because so many people I have come across think Paths is "dated & depressing" but I think it is terrific. 2001, because many these days just seem to think it is strange & I worked on this for MGM UK & loved it since day one (for those who may be interested it was a hard sell), so I think I was trying to politically correct. But should of remembered on this board it is a friendly place & it is okay to like or dislike things. Also, I find I wander back to this for many repeat viewings, because i enjoy them so much.

While I have seen nearly all of Hitchcock's films, I have to limit myself to stuff to the period of 1940 to 1976.Eric Paddon wrote: ↑Thu Oct 14, 2021 8:33 pm Alfred Hitchcock
