Ridley Scott Drops F-Bombage on Russian TV

#1 Post by AndyDursin »

Starting to think Ridley's age is finally creeping up with him. This is a spectacularly weird exchange (video should play it back):

Ridley's just at that age when most people take off their social filters and just say whatever the phuck they want, rationalizing that they'll be dead soon, so it doesn't matter if they get "cancelled" for their opinions (Scorsese, too).

Hey, it sucks that their brands of adult dramas don't sell movie tickets anymore, but they could NOT sound more ancient and grumpy and attention-craving with their recent antics.

Sounds to me like he's joking around with the guy. I've seen him drop a lot of f-bombs. Years ago, his advice to aspiring filmmakers was to stop looking for a break or making excuses, and "Just f****ing do it!"

Scott has always displayed an "affable ego" -- never in doubt of his stature as a "big shot" (cigars and all), yet at the same time generally objective (and relatively modest) about his work.

On the other hand, he is in his 80s now, and probably has "lowered the filter" a bit!

lol yeah I think actually after watching it again that it makes more sense he was joking and/or knew the guy.

Either way, hey, it's a rough time to be making anything other than a Disney movie for a 12 year old. :?
