I've been impressed with the extras I've sampled in the "On The Beach" release. The two commentaries were great and devoid of any kind of political sermonizing which is refreshing to see. The supplement with trims and deleted scenes (four of them) was great. After my hostile reaction to Kim Newman's utterly wrongheaded commentary on "Barabbas" I'm not yet ready to look at his twenty minute supplement but will probably relent later since he was okay doing that with the "Marooned" release.

I enjoy most of Newman's commentaries and musings, he's mostly a "horror guy" and his talks on Hammer films and sci-fi pictures are usually very funny and on-target. I didn't bother listening to this one though, just too much going on and my dad is in the hospital, so I had to pick and choose what to focus on this week.
