Live-action remake of Moana(!) incoming

#1 Post by Monterey Jack »

That movie is six-and-a-half years old. :| What, not enough transgender politics and throwing shade at straight white males?

LOL it's like a comedy show at this point.

I mean we're on the 3rd movie of THE LION KING under 30 years. Soon there won't be a single animated property of theirs left that won't be made into live-action. SNOW WHITE, MOANA, LILO & SITCH -- all upcoming.

History is not going to be kind to Disney and this era. They are not "creating", they are "re-making" and there will be long-term residual aftereffects that will decimate them eventually -- they cannot go on forever rehashing the same old stories and movies they own without dire consequences down the road.

When do we get the live action remake of A Bug’s Life? That’s what I want to see!

It'll make a fortune. I'm resigned to it. They're making these remakes even quicker now to keep the current kid audience in mind just like How to Train Your Dragon.

There was an audience for Stitch as I expected, and there will be for this -- maybe not as much, but it'll do well, even if it's a lousy beat-for-beat live actionization. It's as lazy as it gets...and they will profit just the same.

Who would have ever figured that those direct-to-video "Cheapquels" from 20 years ago would be less of a stain on the legacy of Walt Disney than these awful "live-action" (aka "90% CGI") remakes? At least those films, bad as they were, were cheap, made huge profits for the company and told original stories with their recognizable characters.

Yeah, good point. Sadly, who would've thought this is where the future of cinematic movie-going was headed either. We're looking straight down the barrel of 3 corporations left standing that will be producing the world's filmed entertainment, with Disney consuming brands, IPs, and the entire portfolio of other companies like Fox, with the sole purpose of recycling them all until cinemas don't exist anymore.

I think he looks like Henry Silva from the 80's adventure film Allan Quatermain and the Lost City of Gold!
