The blurry old transfer, a problem because of the 3D process Universal used on that film, has been mostly "fixed" with what looks like a fresh 4K OCN scan and some AI filtering going down. The result looks like a normal movie with clarity and sharpness that it's never seen before.
For Blu-Ray folks it's likely you'll be stuck with the old transfer since they haven't remastered the BD disc -- but if you've got the movie in 1080p on streaming you will have the new master. And the 4K version is likely to be even better once the UHD comes out and HDR is applied.
