Re: Disney Wants to Ruin 24
Jack will have to apologize for torturing all those people while being emasculated by a chiding, lesbian female lead who one-ups him at every turn. And he'll be killed off halfway through the season in an incredibly anticlimactic way.
Also a shame that Fox (the real Fox) never gave the series a proper Blu-Ray release before getting assimilated by Disney. The only way to own the series in high-def (on disc, anyways) is to shill out like $350 for expensive Japanese imports.
Anyways, bring this theme back...!

I bought the series on Vudu for cheap a while back. Maybe $40 or so.
You know there will be a sassy woman of color leading this project. And to be fair Fox already tried the male black lead with that boring revival which I didn't even finish.
I'm disappointed they didn't give Jack a real ending and they had every chance to do so. I see no way this movie if it even happens would include him or the tone of the old show. It is the antithesis of everything Disney stands for.

Leading one to wonder why they're reviving the character in the first place...AndyDursin wrote: ↑Wed Jul 17, 2024 11:16 pmI see no way this movie if it even happens would include him or the tone of the old show. It is the antithesis of everything Disney stands for.

Oh, right...

The whole series is such a relic of that immediate post-9/11, paranoid War On Terror era that it seems pointless to revive it. Jack Bauer's brand of unapologetic, get-it-done alpha-male aggressiveness is SO far removed from where cinematic "heroes" are today, it'd be a rude shock to bring Jack into the mewling, perpetually-outraged year of 2024. Look at what they did to Indiana Jones.

I hope this doesn't happen.
